Frisco FogFrisco Fog
Two Year Old Bay Filly

Highland Yard employed a different approach to secure a 50% interest in this promising Cal Bred. We purchased our share after watching Frisco win a two furlong maiden allowance at Golden Gate Fields in very convincing fashion by 2 ½ lengths in a time a mere .19 seconds above the track record. It was the way she did it that was most impressive, a very professional run for such a young filly.

Frisco has gone on with his training in very speedy fashion. If O.J. can harness that speed and get Frisco to rate we could have a real nice filly on our hands. Frisco Fog is by the young California sire “Idiot Proof” who won in excess of $1.2mm including the Grade 1 Ancient Title Stakes. Frisco’s mare was stakes place and won over $200,000 in her own right.

We look forward to watching her run this spring and summer with our partners Glen Road and Seamist Racing.

News

July 22
Highland Yard's stake in Frisco Fog has been sold to end her brief time as a runner for Highland Yard. We wish her well in her recovery at Paradise Road Ranch. Highland Yard retains an option to purchase back our 50% stake in the future.

July 7

Another bad day for Highland Yard. This time 2 year old filly Frisco Fog was pulled up shortly after the start by Jockey Juan Hernandez who felt she "was off". Very dissapointing to say the least as we had high hopes for her after her speedy debut in April. She was not in distress at any time and seemed to be walking well back at the barn after the race. The vet will see her on Tuesday and we should have more news. The hits keep on coming. A chart of the race can be found above.

July 4
Frisco Fog drew post position 7 of 8 for Saturday's $50,000 added Juan Gonzalez Memorial Stakes at Pleasanton. Jockey Hernandez who won with Frisco at first asking retains the mount. It will be very interesting to see if Frisco can carry his speed over the 5 1/2 furlong race. If he can do so he should be very competitive against a reasonable Stakes list of contenders. Highland Yard has won only one stakes race that by Northern Indy in the Hasta La Vista Handicap. We and our partners would love to get the win here. Past Performances of the race can be found here.

June 7
Frisco Fog was nominated today to both the Lost in The Fog and the Cinderella Stakes both set for Saturday June 15th.
We are leaning to the Lost in the Fog at Golden Gate Fields and will make a final decision on entry day next Wednesday June 12. She breezed very well from the gate last Sunday and we think much faster than the clocker caught her.

May 22

Frisco Fog is training towards her stakes race on June 15th. The partners, including Highland Yard are leaning towards running her in the $50,000 Lost in the Fog Stakes at Golden Gate Fields rather than the Cinderella Stakes at Hollywood Park. In either case Frisco Fog is training well for the race including a brisk 4 furlong work in 47 3/5ths seconds which was 3 of 56 at that distance (and the fastest of the 2 Year Olds) last weekend. Here is hoping she continues to progress over the next few weeks leading up the race.
